Phuket 5-Day Itinerary: Beaches, Islands, Spa and Rooftop Nights
A 5-day Phuket trip built for Arab families: beach time, Phi Phi islands, a Phang Nga Bay day with halal lunch on Koh Panyi, a proper spa morning, and a Vegas-size FantaSea show.

Phuket is Thailand's most popular island, and five days gives you the time to do it the right way. Arrive late on day one, sleep off the flight, then spend the next four days splitting your time between the best beaches, a full-day island hop to Phi Phi and Maya Bay, a Phang Nga Bay tour with a halal lunch on the Muslim stilted village of Koh Panyi, a beachfront spa morning, and a cultural landmark or two that earn their place. This Phuket 5-day itinerary is tuned for Arab families and couples who want the fun side of Thailand with halal food, real spa time, shopping, and photogenic rooftop dinners. You land at Phuket International Airport and check in at Grand Mercure Phuket Patong, a central 4-star hotel in walking distance of Bangla Road, Jungceylon mall, and the beach. Day one is light: a walking tour of Old Phuket Town with its Sino-Portuguese shophouses and street art, a late afternoon at Kata Beach, and a sunset dinner at Casa Boho, a Greek-island-style rooftop restaurant on Kalim Bay. Day two is the classic full-day speedboat to the Phi Phi Islands. Pickup at 7:30 AM, first stop Maya Bay (reopened in 2022 after a restoration, now controlled by a daily visitor cap), then Pi Leh Bay with its emerald lagoon walled by limestone cliffs, then lunch on Phi Phi Don, and an afternoon at Bamboo Island or Monkey Beach before returning by 5 PM. Evening is for shopping and dinner in Patong: browse Jungceylon mall (the biggest in Patong) and eat at Three Monkeys Restaurant, Kata Hill's jungle-themed treehouse. Day three is the most Arab-family-favorite day of the trip. A Phang Nga Bay tour takes you by longtail boat through limestone karst islands that look like they escaped a National Geographic cover. Morning stop is James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan), the needle-thin rock from the 1974 Bond film. Lunch is served on Koh Panyi, a 500-resident Muslim fishing village built entirely on stilts over the water, with its own mosque, school, and football pitch. The lunch buffet is fully halal and cooked in the village itself. Afternoon is a canoe paddle through hidden hong lagoons and sea caves. Return to the hotel by 5 PM, then head straight to Phuket FantaSea for a buffet dinner and the island's signature 75-minute cultural show: elephants, aerial acrobats, illusionists, and fireworks. Arab families consistently rank FantaSea as their favorite Phuket evening. Day four is your slow day. Morning at Cool Spa by Sri Panwa, a clifftop spa on Cape Panwa where the treatment rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows onto the Andaman Sea. Book the 2-hour Thai or aromatherapy package. Lunch at the resort's Baba Poolclub, then a short afternoon stop at The Big Buddha, a 45-meter marble statue on the mountain above Chalong with a 360-degree view of the island. Quick visit, more a photo viewpoint than a temple. Dinner is the standout experience of the trip: Dinner in the Sky Phuket, a platform with chairs and a table hoisted 40 meters into the air by a crane while a chef serves a 5-course menu mid-flight. Day five is a slow farewell. Morning at Kamala Beach, a calmer and more upscale beach than Patong, good for a final swim. Lunch at On The Rock Restaurant, a cliffside seafood spot carved into the rocks above Millionaire's Mile. Last shopping at Central Phuket Festival, the biggest mall on the island, for Thai silk, dried mango, and souvenirs at supermarket prices. Private transfer to Phuket International Airport, roughly 45 minutes depending on traffic.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
5 days of adventure and exploration
Arrive at Phuket International Airport and check in at Grand Mercure Phuket Patong, a 4-star central hotel on walking distance to Bangla Road, Jungceylon mall, and the beach. Day one is designed to beat jet lag without wasting the evening. Head into Old Phuket Town for a short walking tour along Thalang and Dibuk roads, where Sino-Portuguese shophouses, temple facades, and street art make the best introduction to the island's history. Late afternoon, taxi to Kata Beach, the family-friendly beach south of Patong with soft sand and calmer surf, to relax and swim before the sun drops. Sunset dinner is at Casa Boho Phuket on Kalim Bay, a Greek-island-inspired rooftop with whitewashed walls, blue accents, and one of the best sunset tables on the island.
Old Phuket Town is a compact grid of Sino-Portuguese shophouses along Thalang, Dibuk, and Krabi roads, painted in pastels and covered in colorful street art. A 90-minute self-guided walk covers the main strip, the Chinpracha mansion, and a few legendary cafes.
Go on a Sunday afternoon when the Thalang Sunday Walking Street turns into a pedestrian food market with live music and cheap eats from 4 PM.
Kata Beach is Phuket's most family-friendly beach, 1.5 kilometers of soft sand south of Patong with calmer surf, lifeguards in high season, and plenty of quiet cafes along the back road. A good first swim for kids on your arrival day.
Park at the south end of the beach for fewer vendors and cleaner sand. Umbrella and chair rental is 200 baht per day.
Casa Boho is a Greek-island-styled rooftop restaurant overlooking Kalim Bay, whitewashed walls with blue accents, Mediterranean menu, and one of the best sunset tables in Phuket. Perfect low-key arrival dinner.
Reserve for 6:15 PM to catch the sunset from the best table on the front deck. Tuesdays and Fridays sell out in high season.
